Lady had a DNA test on the pup and every one got one guess.
Only one person came close, but everyone had a great time with the big surprise at the end.

Dairy Cow field. His job was to increase milk production. He judged all the major fairs in state of registered breeds. They were judged on traits for confirmation of traits of the breeds. Seem like a big deal to the milk producers, but he told me those traits didn’t have all that much to do with milk production.
What really mattered was how much milk and butter fat a cow could produce. To get the best producer, they went with testing each cow and its parents actual results over their lifetime. Confirming best breed traits was the least important thing for selecting breeding for milk production. But best of breed was a big deal for the kids showing their cows.

Produce more... same traits as seen in human factories. Milk them till their legs can't handle the weight, then send them off to McDonald's....

As a business, input vs output is the bottom line. Family farms milking 40 head are almost gone. Those farms were less efficient, but the animals were treated much better. When a cow dropped a calf, the farmer was there to protect it. Now many get trampled by the heard. Farmers use to support a family on 100 acres milking 40 cows. Not anymore.
Milk is cheap and the profits come from from pizza cheese.

Quotas for a dairy farm often are more expensive than the farm. Dairys in the Fraser Valley are often small, 60 to 100 acres, and have the best machinery, milking parlors, etc. Across the border in Watcom County, in Washington State dairy farms are still operating like it's the 1940s, old machinery, pipeline milking systems...Canada's milk marketing board guarantees dairymen a set price for a set quantity of product. They can plan & finance looking ahead. Most have modern herringbone parlors. The US corporate dairy industry pushed hard to have the last free trade agreement to remove marketing boards & quotas, didn't happen. A very similar push has come from the US medical industry, which has been drooling for years to be allowed to enter Canada.

The dog's fur in the video appears to be clipped especially around the ears.

Yorkie and Cairn Terrier mix / Carkie is the thinking here at the moofhut but we were hoping for some wider consensus. Looking to replace our recent Yorkie loss in the family with a bit bigger small dog that has less known health issues. Cairns are the top pick so far but it appears they are not as good socially as a Yorkie's.
