How long do you want to live to? At first, the question seems silly. We all want to live as long as we can.

But then consider. How many of your family and friends will still be around? Will it still be a full life without them? What will your physical condition be at, say 105?

From experience we know that November will bring no peace and January really could be an historic bloody time here. I don’t think Magas will change philosophy in my lifetime. Since 2015 Trump lies have filled our media message. What started as a pimple turned to a boil and is now a full fledged tumor that will not go away. We will never be free of the orange pustular monster. In light of this I live one day at a time. Every day is an eternity and a blink at the same time. At this point I don’t think in terms of years. We have had political yard signs set on fire. We have had signs shot at. If TSF calls for his followers to eliminate all libs or whatever he calls us I have a pretty good idea that this home will be a target. If I am asked to live in a world where women have no power, voice or control over their lives….well that isn’t living. So basically I make no plans or designs on the future as that luxury has been extinguished. Length of life is not a determining factor. Freedom…democracy is.

Just a reminder, if you live in the US you live near them too. When the zombie master gives the orders none of us are safe! Stay safe and live for today!😊💗

My mother has been expecting to die since she was 80---13 long years ago. She is neither happy nor healthy, but terrified of death and yet disconnected from everything that might make her living happier. Both my brother and I have said privately that we will not live that way (I'd rather drink myself into the grave than exist so long so miserable)

13. My grandmother is 97 years old.

She has so far outlived my grandfather by 20 years.

The nursing home that she was in recently recommended hospice to her children and now my grandmother is in hospice. No timeframe was given and I suspect she isn't eating well.

I gave notice to my boss so when my grandmother is getting ready or has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I'll be heading to my home state so that I can say goodbye. I know that we generally use that term (Rainbow Bridge) for our departed pets, but I believe that it works for our human loved ones as well.

My mother and I had recently discussed that neither one of us want to live as long as grandmother has.

I'm fairly younger than most DU'ers but I believe that ages 60 and 70's are too young to go, perhaps a ripe age of 80 something.

In my line of work, I think about my own mortality, probably more frequently than I should think about it.

My plan since I was a teen was to get a job, save my money, and retire young in comfort.

I've reached that goal, and, as a bonus, I am in good health.

I am in no hurry to shuffle off.

Live long enough to make a good sized dent in the tasks comprising the why.

But along those lines, over the years have been lectured and reprimanded by a cardiologist and such about the usual things - exercise, diet, etc. After several of those sermons, I came close to snapping back, "What is your target date for me to live to, Doc?"

One obnoxious one couldn't articulate to me on an adult level, pointed to his shirt buttons and said my belly needed to go up and down like that instead of like a belly. I'm at the point of, I'm *77* leave me the Hades alone!

*** Several of my relatives went to the late 80s and early 90s, totally alert. A couple went to 101-102, bed and mentally gone - but had 24 hours care at home. I don't expect to do the 80s+ but certainly don't want the top range.
