no one knew it until they hooked me up w/ a monitor for 30 days, to monitor my heart. It showed that I literally had an AFIB attack every day. Now I'm on meds, that have slowed my pulse down, and also reducing the AFIB attacks. Haven't had any issues since then.

The docs asked me when I came in after my 1 month's monitoring, and they asked me if I was in any pain, etc., and I wondered why they were asking me this. I had the afib attacks and didn't even realize it, no pain, etc. At least that's good, but as the nurse said, it's good to have had the monitoring (I originally objected), for I could have had more serious issues down the road w/o knowing why. I was so grateful to the nurse for explaining that to me. I had gone my entire life w/ these flutters, had blackouts fairly irregularly (but common enough to raise eyebrows/make me nervous), and I was so grateful that they finally figured it out what was causing them.

And no one else over the years had ever suggested a monitoring program to me. Thank goodness it was caught at least.

I'm glad to see that you do have some routines, that help you. Every little bit can help. Best wishes to you!

monitor for a month and had three brief afib episodes. All three in the morning after the only times I drank that month. I was put on blood thinners.

I lost a lot of weight and quit drinking. That cleared it up and got me off the blood thinner and BP meds too.

I’ve had it for a few years. Had an ablation last August which helped immensely. Cut back on alcohol which was tough, but you do what you gotta do.

Granted the episodes were minor, but consuming too much salt did it to me every time

Also, fwiw, many years ago I discovered that taking a vitamin E supplement was a cause of afib whenever I exercised

Good luck, friend
