(25,941 posts)but I dont indulge any more. They can be quite good, however.
A few years back, I tried to tell my grandkids that the cattails near where we were camping were wild corn dogs. They knew better, but watched with incredulity as I broke off the fuzzy hot dog part, took it back to camp, and squeezed a ribbon of mustard onto it. They were giddy with anticipation as I tried delay tactics, but they wanted a show. They were denied the pleasure of seeing me gag on this inedible thing, however, as I wasnt truly committed to my charade.

(7,627 posts)Krusteaz has a gluten free honey cornbread mix available.
Earlier in the week I took about 1 cup of that mix and experimented with it and made a hushpuppy batter. It was darn near perfect. My hushpuppies were biscuit shaped because I don't have a deep fryer, I used a regular frying pan. It's been way too long since I got to indulge in fried and high carb hushpuppies. It'll be awhile before I make anymore since I don't want to over-indulge.
