Is my sense of humor too weird

Or am I too old?
A Facebook friend posted a link to a story about an illegal dumping of a garden gnome.
I asked if Arlo Guthrie was going to write a song about it.
No one understood, I guess I have reached old and too weird.

Still, you can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant, excepting Alice.

finding the absurd and pointing it out to folks who have no clue is one of my favourite things to do.

is approaching total strangers with a half crazed look in your eye and a bit of a smile and hitting them with an opening like "Hey, did anybody ever show you how we used to (insert the subject of your choice)?" The look on their face of apprehension approaching fear as you come closer and begin is priceless!!

... and maybe even weirder.
Lotta people don't know that all the characters in "Alice's Restaurant" were real folks. I used to live in Western Massachusetts near Stockbridge and had met Alice and Ray Brock, though I didn't know them well. I was just a friend of a friend, so to speak. I met Officer – later Chief – Obanheim once, socially, thank goodness. He wasn't an especially pleasant fellow, though he is said to have mellowed somewhat after going into business with Alice in her Tanglewood restaurant. Never did get to meet Arlo, though.
Fun reminder. Thanks.

We had a computer based assignment system.
Every hour and a half you would go to the computer and get reassigned.
Inevitably, some one would ask me,
"Wadcha get?"
AND I ALWAYS answered,
"I didn't git nothin,
I had to pay fifty dollars and pick up the garbage!"

They didn't move away from me on the bench-
They just stared.
