Depending how much wear she's got under the hood, she might have a good few years in her yet.

All our cats have been rehomed to us, either informally or via official catteries. All have had a few miles on the clock. Sometimes we've wished we had them as kittens, to better understand them, but unravelling their personalities and figuring out their likes and needs has been part of the experience, which has never been less than joyful.

She's the spitting image of our last-but-one cat, Gus.

I quibbled a bit about her age and the grief inevitably to come (again), then stopped myself: "Hang on, how long are you figuring on lasting anyway?"

That came and went, then 16, 17, 18. I just stopped expecting it and continued to enjoy her. She got slower and her hearing wasn't great, but she was pretty damn healthy up up to her last 10 days or so.

This sort of thing restores my faith in people, which is badly needed right about now. Thanks for sharing.
