The ACC absolutely sucks at football.

It's a tragic tale of greed run amok.

They had a great basketball league that made tons of money, but the PTB wanted more.

They went chasing after football cash.

It didn't work and it fucked up the basketball.

Now you have empty seats at the ACC Tourney, which would have been unthinkable 20 years ago.

Now they're ahead of both Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, who are both good football schools, and only slightly behind Florida State (two national championships, two Heisman Trophy winners) and Clemson (one national championship), who are bona fide football powers.

This is Duke we're talking about. The lowest of the low. This is the school Idaho could beat last season (Idaho lost to the Tar Heels 66-0 and to Louisiana Tech 70-28). Every year they play Carolina. Every year the Carolina coach's pregame pep talk is titled "the Liberty Bell is not the property of the UNC Athletic Department." And normally it works...but not this year.

Your knowledge of college football esoterica is insufficient.
