When an official holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is the day off. Saturday, the Friday before.

If the holiday falls on a weekend, stuff is sometimes closed on Monday.

If they don't want my money...

But it gets cancelled if not payed by tomorrow (why I have a vehicle insurance bill due in December is beyond me I sure never planned that!)

So it costs me a postage stamp each time I mail her the rent. Plus, it went up this year by 50 dollars. All my bills are paid on line,
except rent. She's still in the ice age, as far as computers are concerned. Meh ..

BUT, I still have to write one. It's the only thing in my life that requires a physical check. Everything else is done online. And I think it's much better that way

So, what'd you get in your shopping spree?

of any place I have ever worked. 1-Memorial Day, 2-July 4, 3-Labor Day, 4-Thanksgiving, 5-Christmas Day, 6-New Years Day. I think that there are a lot of places where these are the only holidays given. Sad. (I am lucky to be good at what I do and a spoiled brat to boot. I always just take the day after Thanksgiving off, and usually Christmas and New Years Eve. This is with or without approval, and I get away with it.)

Did you notice you didn't get mail delivery? I guess that your newspaper or whatever doesn't list holiday closings? It never occured to me that people wouldn't just know, but I can see the confusion.

I get mail 5 miles away at a post office and I don't go every day (hell I don't go every WEEK!) so there is always something in there and I could have sworn the desk was open too but maybe not.

As for the paper we only get it when somebody goes to town and remembers to pick it up. I think we got one on Saturday and I know I picked up the local weekly paper then too, but I haven't read it and don't recall seeing a holiday schedule. Well I take that back there was something and I kind of wondered but didn't really look at the time because Tucson's garbage collection schedules don't affect me. I bet there was something there but I didn't read it.

besides these excuses - trust me there are people who just wouldn't know - dog knows I am one. Probably even if I lived in town I wouldn't have noticed. Heck I talked to my sister and she had the day off and SHE didn't really know. We discussed if it was a holiday and chalked up her day off to a pretty cool company, not to a real holiday
