french to english translation needed

anyone speak french? i'd use the google translator but the inscription is difficult for me to make out. thought maybe someone who speaks french might reconize the words. it's for the grave of Allan Kardec that is listed on findagrave dot com
there are two photos, one is at the top of his shrine and one is with the bust inside the shrine.

For Allan Kardec
"Naitre Mourir Renaitre Encore et Progresser sans cesse telle est la loi"

"To be born, to Die, to be born again, and to progress without fail is the law"

For some reason, I could read, write, and take tests in the language but could never hear it. Mostly I couldn't determine where one word ended and the next began. It just sounded like mush to me. If you can't hear a language, it's also very difficult to speak it. Russian and German were far easier for me, and I even know a limited amount of Korean (which is really easy to read).
