I've not been in a similar situation, but I hope the damage was minimal and the other driver is okay.....otherwise, your friend is screwed.

for situations like this. Sounds like it means that since the car was loaned, the insurance company will waive the copay. ??? I dunno, she's too busy to talk and I'm getting the story piecemeal from email.

waived unless that's a special benefit for certain insurers' policy holders. She should be prepared for an increase in her premiums probably.
