Actually, the thing weighs more than 70lbs. It takes us both to get up a hill - sometimes standing. Down hill she keeps trying to grab for the hand brakes (there aren't any in back). I keep threatening to put some brake handles on her bar just as a placebo. The drum brake in the back (yes, drum) is more than adequate to stop the bike.

I have a set for my girl, Cleo. (I thought she should carry her own food and water when we go hiking in the canyons.) She hates them, and goes motionless when I put them on her.
