Worst part of putting up the Christmas tree?

I put ours up today. We hate cutting down trees, so we have a artificial one.

and keeping the dog from retrieving all the "balls" hanging on the branches.

Our tree is now on the deck every holiday.
The fur chidlren are inside.
We have big windows, so it works out.

I put them on the bottom of the tree so that hopefully if the cats do any batting, those will be safest. I don't know how many times I've yelled, "MORRISSEY!" today!

The broken glass ornaments (see "cats&quot . Getting rid of it. I'd get an artificial tree again, but they get dusty and beat-up-looking from storage.

from Certain People who demand a real tree and refuse to decorate it, water it, undecorate it or vacuum up the needles.

They know who They are.

I'm mom is a HUGE ornament freak/collector, so every year she puts up hundreds of ornaments on the tree. Of course, that's the easy part. Each ornament has it's own little box, so the maddening part is hunting all over the tree to find the correct ornament for each box.

all the "good" decorations have to go up high so he doesn't decide to see how they look chucked against the wall.
