12 year old Tomatin.
This was either a very good idea or very bad idea. Will know more tomorrow.

As I recall, the Trader Joe's brand (Finlaggan) is quite good, and under $25. Now that the weather is cooling, it's time to get back into the Scotch closet - I'm hoping my parents took my 'hint' about Talisker and Lagavulin when they're out Christmas shopping...

... gift boxes of 12-year-old The MacAllan and two engraved rocks glasses. I think The MacAllan
was about $45/bottle then -- these gift sets were selling at $18 apiece. i bought all 6 bottles on
the display.

I only drank one of them, but 5 of my friends were very VERY happy with their gifts that year.

Coincidentally and fortuitously, The MacAllan was always my favorite single malt.
