They charge in, "It's time for a walk! It's time for a walk!"
I open the door, I show them it's cold and raining outside. Sad dogs. We have one dog who hates the rain so much we have to force her outside to pee when it's raining. Otherwise she just holds it in until she can't. We have one dog who'd rather not get wet. We have a dog who loves to get wet and muddy but hates the cold.
Ten minutes later they charge in, "It's time for a walk! It's time for a walk!"
Repeat, repeat, repeat...
But now they are moping about, very sad, looking at me like it's my fault.
They won't be happy until dinner.

(38,317 posts)They all ran in when they heard the dog barking.
Now they're looking around sniffing.
Nope, can't smell it, not real, more strange magic.

Except our dogs consider my wife the benevolent ruler of this household. She would never make it rain.

(12,296 posts)... if it's raining in the backyard out the patio door, it is ALSO raining in the front yard out the kitchen door.
They seem to be amazed every time they find the same weather in both halves of the yard.

(11,362 posts)If it's a cloudy day, they stand there staring at you to try to get you to put the sun where they can lie in it. They're quiet, but very insistent.
