... that was lined with thick palm trees all trimmed just like that (except the usual examples are
between 15 and 20 feet tall).

They are hilarious -- and I wonder how many of the retirees out here are blissfully unaware of
their obvious phallic suggestiveness.

Those are actually live palm leaves "spraying" out from the top (while the "heads" are the trimmed
ends of dead palm leaves), though I have to admit, while I've seen them decorated with lights,
I've never seen anything so definitively illuminating their true essence.
