... I got through my Army Basic Training is that I adopted the attitude of "the only way you
can break me is if I allow you to", and I not only made it, but made it with honors and a
promotion). I have always tried NOT to be defeatist in what I faced.

My heart has beaten me down somewhat. I simply CAN'T return to a robust and active life,
no matter my focus or attitude. But I DO resist it and defy it and even dare it as much as
possible... taunting it and thumbing my nose at it and flipping it off and mooning it -- mooning
the HELL out of it.

And I've decided to be Fucking Immortal.

So I'm down but not defeated.

So I'm still that oak... with branches that are learning to bend BIGTIME -- but they are bending
willingly.
