Socks came to us during a storm with her babies and never left. 21 years of not eating anything but dry food and drinking water. Kept our dog in line when she gets a little frisky. All ready missing her walking across the keyboard and stopping right on it while she typed ggggggggggggggggg across it.
Kind of hard to see her go and I think the dog is already noticing. At least she didn't suffer. Well, tough night in the household.

(3,818 posts)for the loss of your beloved Socks. It's so hard to lose a pet at any age. How nice that you had her for so many years, it's never long enough though, and when they are with you so long you just feel lost with them gone. (((HUGS)))

(15,220 posts)I am so sorry for your loss of Socks. What a success story, though. Twenty-one years is a wonderful length of time for a kitty to have lived, and to have lived in a home where she was loved and treasured. I salute you.
When the time is right, and only you will know when that time might be, I hope you will consider adopting another kitty that needs you just as Socks needed you at the time she arrived during the storm. I am a cat rescuer, and good homes such as yours, are the stuff of dreams for people like me.
Again - I am very sorry for your loss. I thank you for loving Socks and providing for her. May you find comfort and peace.

(2,584 posts)Came home and kind of interesting the dog is roaming around and checking out all the spots where the cat should be hanging out. They were together for 12 years. Seems to miss her buddy.
