The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsDeleting the extreme right wingers from my FB account. No more Yahooesque Comments on FB for me.
The guy I just deleted from FaceBook is someone I've known for 20 years. I didn't even know he was a conservative. His silly right-wing postings change with each passing weekI'm guessing according to what he hears on AM radio. Everything on his FB page is currently pro gun. I don't even think he owns a gun.
A couple of times he replied to my posts (which are never political) with his right-wing garbagesomehow making it relate. Not always, he has posted kind things as well. So I cut him slack with the political junk, but no more.
I don't set out to read his posts, but they stand out when I'm on the HOME tab of FaceBook (browsing my friends' posts). I've found when him, and others like him (soon to be deleted, as well), start posting their right-wing tirades, they do it in spurts: they'll post 5-10 in one sitting, and then stop for awhile. I'm guessing that they are sharing posts from some extreme right nutty FaceBook page.
The turning point for me was 2 days ago when he posted a picture of a contest in which you can win a free rifle; below it were snide comments about the shooting in Connecticut.
Yes, they are sick, easily brainwashed peoplethey are useless to this country, and useless to me.
