I'm not a fan of whatever they call "country music" these days. I can't tell the difference between the bands/singers.

For contrast, just yesterday I was listening to a Charlie Rich song. OK, so he's not exactly "old school", but when he sings, you can tell it's him. If you know his voice, I mean.

And it's got such a smooth and pleasing quality to it. Damn, I sure do miss him.

Anyway...

Patsy Cline. Loretta Lynn. Conway Twitty. Hank Williams. Kitty Wells. etc.

Every one of them miles ahead of the crap that passes itself off as "country" today.
