(46,179 posts)Our late December storm dropped a big load that is just now almost gone.
The only shoveling I did was around a farm gate so the farrier could get back to the barn, and I could get back there with a load of hay to unload; it froze to the ground. It was more breaking up thick ice than shoveling.
I left the 250 yard driveway alone; my Tacoma handles it just fine.
I kicked some snow away from the small gate leading to the house.
I wore a path from the gate to the front door, and from the back door to the barn.
I knocked some off of the wood pile when I needed wood.
I hauled carts of manure through the snow to dump them. That's thirsty work, too.
we can do it
(12,184 posts)So in anticipation of pizza and beer nite tomorrow, I thought it would be a good idea to knock out some of the snow today. My outback sport has no problem with snow- I just want safe waling for others!
Thirsty work is good work!

(46,179 posts)I begged her to spend the winter with me; she's 50 miles away and 1000 feet higher in elevation. She gets a lot more snow.
She refused. So, at 74, she spent the winter learning to maneuver on the knee and traversing the icy concrete outside her front door. I HAVE spent some time trying to clear her path.
