It was two years ago Remy found me...he's grown a bit.
The night he found us:

He's a sweetheart. He plays with the dogs he was once terrified of and pretty much rules the house. When the dogs sit for a treat so does he. When they sit for an ice cube so does he. When they run to see who's at the front door, so does he. The three of them sleep together too.
My other babies.

(20,043 posts)they're all a clowns.
Remy will lay in the chair--like the one in the picture--and smack the dogs with his paw as they walk by. Remy was so scared of the dogs at first he wouldn't even walk by when they were crated. Now he smacks them. LOL.

(72,300 posts)They usually work out the pecking order over time. I'm glad to hear that Remy's the top cat.

(20,043 posts)that's odd.
Remy was so skinny when we got him. The vet said he would have only lasted a little bit longer on the streets poor thing was freezing. He has the softest fur I've ever felt.

(6,011 posts)Sugar and Izzie are very cute dogs! Now I remember seeing them before on DU.
I'm so glad people who have breeds of dogs that used to have cropped ears don't crop them anymore. When I was a Brownie my scout leader bred boxers, and as a 6-8 year old I felt so sorry for the little pups with bandaged ears.

(20,043 posts)but last time I took him he was 13lbs. He's very long, though, if you're brushing your teeth he likes to get on the toilet and stretch up to rub your face with his paw. It's quite a stretch, but it's like he's saying good morning/night.
I think he's a good size. Not as big as my last kitty, he was huge over 20lbs. Not fat, just big.

(13,421 posts)What a good kitty mom you are for not letting him get overweight! Chaucer looked like a short haired version of Remy when he was a kitten--same ears and long tail. Unfortunately, Chaucer is now a Sr. Citizen and he LOVES his food. We had to put him on Fat Kitty Fud to try and keep his weight down. (In fact, he's over there bitching right now because he thinks it is time for his "dinner." I love bigger cats!

(29,414 posts)I just got off the phone with my vet because he (Kipper) had a tumor removed over a week ago, and I took him in to get the stitches out and get an x-ray. They still don't know exactly what kind of cancer it was, but at the vet's advice, we're going to wait and see if it returns. He's rather sensitive to anesthesia, and we both figure he wouldn't do well with chemo and radiation treatment, if it ends up returning. Hopefully not.

(20,043 posts)I will keep good thoughts for him. I hope he gets a clean bill of health!
My Sugar had a mast cell tumor removed 2 years ago it was very worrisome. It appears she has another tumor in a different spot. we're going to have to take her to the vet and find out if it's another mast cell, it grew very quickly.

(29,414 posts)He's still active, though he's about 12, maybe 13 soon (he was a stray.) The vet said that when she removed the tumor that it had some major blood vessels feeding it, and probably why it grew fast. However, the x-ray today was clear, so we're both hoping it stays that way.
I wish the best with your Sugar, too
My GF has a dog named Sugar, so I often think of her (both of them) when I see that name
