One of my heroes right there, a sublimley gifted guitarist and innovator who's legacy lives on every night of the week in bars, clubs, and concert halls all over the world.

RIP Les, you sir were one in a million.

Les Paul was an inspiration. I admit to loving his early trio work over the Mary Ford days, but wow, what a truly amazing musician.

Thank you for this video.

14. Find out if there's a "community" radio station in your area -- most of them have volunteers...

... who produce shows involving music that THEY love -- and they're almost always what
you won't find on any other stations. A lot of them have "roots rock" shows -- and those
type of shows would almost certainly gladly play some Les Paul for you... would probably
appreciate a caller who would KNOW about and request Les and Mary.

You could check out kxci.org here in Tucson online -- try Ruby's Roadhouse from 12-2 PM
on Saturdays (Arizona or Mountain time). If she's not playing a themed show, Carol would
be happy to find some of their music for you -- though you might have to listen again the
following week (most of the music these folks play is from their personal collections). Their
evening and weekend shows are generally fantastic -- and if you look at their schedule,
you can see how diverse their "format" is.

Any good community station is gonna be like that.

so much streaming music from so many stations is available.
Which is good for me, because I live in a place which gets no radio except the local gospel station.
EEEEck!

9. You're welcome. I noticed his fingers, too -- and wondered what he did to lessen the pain.

One of my favorite songs is Nanci Griffith's "Love at the 5 & Dime" -- a beautiful song
about a love between Eddie & Rita. She was a waitress at Woolworth's and he played
slide guitar as his profession.
.
Eddie traveled with the barroom bands
'til arthritis took his hands.
Now he sells insurance on the side.

.
.
I wonder how many musicians "retire" due to arthritis and if Les Paul had a remedy or
procedure that might help them prolong their careers.
