I've just spent the last 6 hours working on variance analysis problems. Please, shoot me.
Is this what you all do at your job? It's enough to make me want to switch to finance....

(8,646 posts)That IS what the 40 lb text says on it.
Sorry, I should've been more clear. I'm in school right now, taking an applied Degree in Business admin/Accounting. My Cost/Management Accounting course is brutal this term (This is the third course in a series of cost accounting). My instructor has been assigning double/triple the amount of homework than what the school says is 'standard' and I'm tired of 5-6 hrs of this every night. I DO have other courses, LOL. I just am having issues with adding the level 4 variances and the allocated stuff. If you have a Bachelor's in Accounting, then I'm sure you know what I mean. I take it you don't do any cost accounting at your job?

(8,646 posts)It's not like I don't know how to do this stuff - it's just suddenly our instructor decided we needed to create our own templates on excel AND do the problems, and then throw in completely different terminology than what the text has and now this last question wants me to work backwards. It's too much. I'm not 20 anymore, lol.
