Latest pet peeve -- student driver that traps you behind them.

Got stuck behind one for about 6 miles tonight, on hilly, twisty roads that were completely marked "No Passing" the entire length. The student driver was going between 20 and 25 the entire route, on roads with speed limits of 35 and then 45 mph.

Really annoyed me. And dozens and dozens of other cars in line behind the person.

I don't blame the student driver, I blame the idiot instructor.

Memo to driving instructors -- If you have your students drive a route where they will trap other drivers behind them, especially during peak rush hour traffic, have them pull off onto a side street or into a parking lot over mile or two to let the other drivers pass. That would be the courteous thing to do.

about the instructor, because clearly they are incompetent if they didn't teach their student to pull over and let others pass, when there are a certain number of cars behind.

"Go a little faster now. A little faster than that. It's okay, the car will hold together, just a little faster. Okay, now stop at the end of the driveway."

(Note: Our driveway is pretty short)

The other matter is getting them to pull forward at a stop sign far enough to see if anything is coming.
