Introverts, unite! Wait, never mind…

This is me. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

You know that canceling plans is like winning the damn lottery, especially when someone else does it.

That way you don’t have to feel guilty!

People often ask, “What are you thinking about?” because they haven’t heard you speak in a while.

You don’t hate parties, it’s just that you don’t LOVE being around a ton of people.

Agreeing to a lot of nights out in a row isn’t fun. AT. ALL.

You know this to be absolutely true.

Other people are always ruining your carefully thought out responses.

You wear headphones for a reason, and it’s so that people will (hopefully) not talk to you.

I am absurdly jealous of my free time. When I was in a relationship (with another introvert), I was always stressed when he wanted to spend time with his family because I knew we would have less time to spend together on our own. But it is stressful for me to be around people I don't know.

Whether having a visitor, or my visiting someone. Good times had, but I'm just as glad to get back to having a normal "boring" weekend.

I am so busy during the week and usually on the weekend too; but this weekend I have some 'me' time and I love it.

It's not selfishness; it's just that we introverts need to withdraw into our heads for awhile sometimes so we are better able to interact with others.

And I absolutely hate it when people point out you haven't been talking much. That doesn't help at all. I'm not shy, I'm introverted and I'll jump in once I've sized things up and it feels right.

"Whatza matter...cat got your tongue?"

Or anything that calls attention to me in a group of people.

If I actually said anything, I would be ignored or interrupted.

If someone asks why I'm so quiet, everyone stops and looks at me like I'm about to give an Epic speech.

After being me for close to 60 years I'm not sure whether I'm truly introverted or just so shy I've never had a chance to try anything else.

Especially #1 and #4. Time for myself is golden, and I actually do stress out during the workweek somewhat when I know I'm going to "lose" an upcoming weekend due to some event activity. Even though it's mostly good ( visitor in town, my travelling to visit others or some event, or attending some event nearby ) I still get bummed out I'm not going to have the usual idyllic time for myself.
