Didn't know about Rock Hudson, Tab Hunter, or any other star of that era.

We didn't even think about it one way or another.

Liberace was an object of ridicule for the way he talked and dressed. What we called a 'sissy'. But anything more than that never occurred to us to think about. We certainly would never invade the privacy of his bedroom activities. And that was good enough for us. To enjoy his piano playing talent and his flamboyance.

Rock Hudson and Tab Hunter (and dozens of other Hollywood stars) were a different thing entirely. They worked hard presenting themselves as macho ladies men and feared even the hint of 'gay' gossip.
