Tim Gunn Says He Hasn't Had Sex in 29 Years – and He's Fine with That

It's been a while for Tim Gunn, but don't feel sorry for him.

The Project Runway star revealed Tuesday on the ABC talk show The Revolution that he hasn't been intimate with anyone for 29 years. But that's just fine with him, he added.

"I haven't had sex in 29 years. Do I feel like less of a person for it? No. Not even remotely," said Gunn, 58, to applause from the audience.

Gunn said the reasons for his abstinence are rooted in psychological issues from an old relationship. "It's very personal," he said. "I was in a very intense relationship for a long time. And my partner ended it, saying that, quite frankly, he was impatient with my sexual performance."

Must just don't make a big deal about it, and many are just fine with it.

I wonder if that's longer than it's been for the pope?

I'd like to try a prolonged period of abstinence, but dammit, I'm just so darn good-looking and sexy that women won't leave me alone for a minute. You lot probably don't know how difficult that is -- I can hardly go to the grocery store and leave unmolested.

No sympathy I bet, you heartless bastards.

when going through a prolonged dry spell, "Oh, I'm having lots of sex. I'm just not having it with other people right now!"

There are 2 kinds of people in this world: those who masturbate, and those who lie about it.

I can't even begin to imagine giving hell to someone I supposedly loved over something like that. As long as she's trying, thats all that matters to me!

For about 8 of those years I was sexually frustrated. I was suffering from mental health problems and there wasn't a woman out there who would touch me with a 10 foot pole. Following that, for about 6 years, I was not interested in a relationship and sex without love for me is painful. The remaining 2 years I became interested in a relationship finally, and I spent that time looking for a mate.

I guess some people can be. Like a lot of people, I've had dry spells too, but day-um. That's more than a dry spell - that's the damn Atacama Desert of dry spells (driest place on earth ).

Personally, I'd be miserable if I had to go a long time - say, a year or so - without feeling that close to someone. It's more than the physical satisfaction, too; it has a lot to do with the emotional intimacy. That's just me, though. If Tim Gunn is content with his life, that's all that matters. Good for him.
