I just saw America's Susan Boyle on America's Got Talent.

Now, because people get annoyed at spoilers, and YELL at me, I'ma gonna hide this and you have to "highlight" to see what I am talking about:

A nice young kid who sang some Andrea Boccelli. His parents kicked him out on his eighteenth birthday....for being gay. He's been disowned by his family but the AGT judges have adopted him.

Probably the most inspiring act of the evening!!!

4. I have to say, I started watching it when they hired him.

I never cared for his radio/simulcast program; in fact, I found it stupid and offensive.

However, as the host of AGT Stern is nothing short of superb. He has a good eye for talent, he keeps the judge's table lively, and the change-up in the table this season is a good thing. Mariah Carey's husband does a great job of interacting with the acts--he's hilarious.

Put aside your prejudices and give the show a try. Stern on AGT is not the same "entertainer" as he is on the radio. It's like he's a different person. You will find that it's a great show and Stern is very supportive of the quality acts. The time flies by.

5. I suppose a parent would have to be a vicious, close-minded asshole.

That kid's folks are the losers.

I hope he goes all the way to the finals, and becomes rich-rich-rich beyond his wildest dreams...and he does something good with some of his money, maybe sets up a support system for adult children who turn eighteen and get the boot like he did.

6. Since the show has already aired, I thought I'd put up the performance

in case anyone missed it.

A little coaching, a bit of polish, and this kid could take it to the finals:

I'm not holding my breath, but I hope his parents were watching and saw what the rest of us saw. With so many LGBT teens in his position that turn to drugs or alcohol or suicide to cope with the abuse, it's good to see Jonathan found his outlet.

8. Have you ever seen this? It was another Susan Boyle situation on "Britain's Got Talent."

Apparently nobody learned anything from the Susan Boyle thing, given the preliminary reactions to Jonathan.

10. The "Got Talent" franchises just love these sorts of stories...

They eat 'em up with a fork. Remember Paul Potts? Same deal.

And the truth is, that one doesn't need to win the contest to see a fine payday. People forget that Susan Boyle took second in the competition and LOST to a dance troupe...but those dancers took their first prize money and went on to perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety performances, and Susan went on to record a bestselling album, go on a world tour, and make more than enough money to see her comfortably into old age.
