but instead of doing or posting something stupid I will just rant against the wind...
I FIND YOUR PERSONAL HYGIENE TO BE SUBPAR AND I QUESTION WHETHER YOU ARE EVEN REMOTELY AWARE OF IT.
*On Edit: I am just engaging in a little nonsense. I am not mad at anyone for hygiene issue. As they say "a little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest man"

(600 posts)have YOU ever tried to give a cat a bath? And I mean with water because if you try to do it like the cats do you will understand the whole hair ball thing. Just a word of caution because I am speaking from experience.

(62 posts)Yes, many times. Our Pester, a Maine Coon, liked getting bathed in the tub. He even liked the blow dryer. Strange and wonderful cat. Pretty sure he was a Golden Retriever in a past life.

female hated the water -
the male, ya had to drag him out!
He'd just wander around in the tub as long as you would let him.
Ya nevah know . . .

(7,347 posts)It just needs to be dealt with quickly! Felix was in that position, I saw him and my heart melted, he lived to be 18 years old because I got over his early found stray worm stage.

Full disclosure: I am more of a dog person but love animals in general. The best dog I ever had was a literal rescue...made me a better human.

(4,033 posts)(mid 40's) in my building who reeks. I cannot get in the elevator when he's on it, or immediately after he's been on it. The odor is a combination of sweat. earth and booze. He does not work, so I can't attribute it to manual labor.
His wife seems pleasant enough, I don't know how she can handle, or if she even is aware of it.

Myself, I rarely have offensive body odor;
But when I am severely stressed - I can bathe, shower, shampoo, deodorize, etc., and I can't tolerate my own odor.., in a matter of minutes.
Some have a chemical imbalance, and always smell bad despite reasonable hygiene.
Yes, there are those that are just plain unkempt - sometimes unavoidable due to financial limitations.
As for being aware,
I was once in the "financial" limited group- living without running water, or adequate heat (especially in winter) to wash properly. It was a comment from a friend who made me "aware" of my offensive odor - and I rectified it - even in the cold.
So first step -
make him/her AWARE!!
Politely.
do NOT try this in the elevator, or other enclosed place in the event the person gets severely offended. Maybe an anonymous (polite) letter? - maybe contact another person in the building?
Maybe sympathy or empathy would be of better use here . . .
Anger rarely solves anything imo . .
