Fans of "The West Wing" and "The Newsroom":

What would you think of an Aaron Sorkin network series, set in the TWW world (where Bartlet and his successor are both former Presidents) and set at the United Nations?

The title would be "Nations", and would include occasional cameos by figures such as Josh Lyman and Toby Ziegler.

I miss "The West Wing", and want more of that sort of programming, with Aaron Sorkin's matchless writing.

I like "The Newsroom" for itself, but I really want something more along the lines of TWW.

What do you think?

... where Jordan was trying to get the writer of a proposed show called "Nations" to bring it to her network? Unsurprisingly that show was said to be about the United Nations. Looks like Mr. Sorkin had a similar idea a few years ago - or at least an idea to put the idea in one of his other shows.

And then there is this.

Of course, nobody would touch it because there's no profit in it--now.

I still miss Sports Night.

I have both seasons on DVD, so I can watch it any time I want. (Just as with the first four seasons of TWW). I find it sad, though, that the last episode was a celebration of the show getting picked up by another network, just as the network IRL was cancelling them.

I like the line the new network owner said: "Anyone who can't make money from Sports Night should get out of the business of making money."

Really stuck it to the real-life network execs with that.

warm, liberal embrace than TWW. Plus there are 250 episodes. Worth buying IMHO.

treatment of the idea of war and the Koreans is wonderful. Plus they say things like "we're all in this together" which Obama is using. It is so nice to reconnect to a world before neocons.
