(45,984 posts)It is much better than an official US government private corporate portrait. At least he's not wearing an insipid smile on his face.
Then again, I'm sure your cat is smarter than a Bush junta official or a Wall Street banker.

He's a polydactyl (6 extra toes fore and aft) adopted stray - I call him a puppy-cat kitty-dog. Such a goof.

(14,557 posts)I will be as good a kitty mommy as I have been a doggie mom.
Maybe this kitty.
It is a Bombay cat...I would name her Mars.

(4,056 posts)I actually gave her to my dad when my mother died 5 years ago, and I tell ya, if you want an affectionate, playful lap-sitting cat, you can't do any better than a Bombay.
Also, they have the lushest, softest fur, love to be petted and purr nonstop.
I miss my Dark Matter Kitty, and will get my dad another one as soon as he's over the mourning period!

(14,557 posts)My doggie is nearing the end. I spend as much time
with her as I can.
Your Bombay sounded just like the personality
of the kitty I imaged for me.

(4,056 posts)I've heard Russian Blues are pretty affectionate as well, and Persians are so mellow you can carry them around like babies and they don't move. But Bombays are my favorites.
I rescued her from the shelter, just thinking she was a black cat mutt, and I only wanted her because I lived in a duplex with unclean upstairs neighbors--whom rodents just loved! So I figured the cat would sit in the other room and ignore me, but do her job and keep the vermin out. Well, within an hour of my bringing her home, she was curled up on my lap, purring her little heart out. She stuck like glue ever since!
She had a long, happy nine lives, and I'm sure her path to the next existence is lined with catnip!

Cute cat-

(14,557 posts)I know what you mean about spending time having fun with them.
Tikki (the dog) is 15 years old.
She has medical issues but we are monitoring her closely.
She is my sweet doggie and when she goes I will miss her terribly.
I have never owned a cat..I don't why.
Years ago there was a neighborhood cat I fed sometimes..
I believe it might have been a Bombay..I liked that cat.

(33,688 posts)No matter that my feline roommate is zonked out in the bedroom and wouldn't wake up if the building was burning down. If I plunk down in the living room to write on my laptop he magically appears within one minute - never just to sit down next to me and meow "hi" but to plant himself exactly between my face and the screen. Ya gotta love cats.
