My aunt once took me to this beautiful place

when I visited her in France in the mid 60s. I was about 14 years old at the time. I drank a Schweppes Indian Tonic on the terrace of a bar right on the beach. From the looks of this video, it's barely changed. It's the Calanque (southern French expression for a small fjord in the white limestone cliffs) of Sormiou, one of many such narrow inlets, each one seemingly more beautiful than the other. They occur after the city of Marseille, a distance after which the French Riviera and it's long sandy beaches begins. In person, this place is breathtakingly beautiful, very peaceful, and largely unspoiled. The water is so clear you can make out the bottom where the sand ends and the darker rocks begin.

You can really see just how clear the water is, esp. in the closeups. I kept wishing the video would focus on the beach up close, though. Those lucky folks, living there!

I got relaxed just watching...

Thank you!

I went to this one, too, way back when, the Calanque of En Vau but you either have to hike in to get there (what I did) or hire a boat. This one's even more pristine.

EDIT: A couple more, Calanques of Sugiton and Morgiou along the same coast. These I didn't visit on my trip.
