(50,566 posts)My cats are laughing at them, though. They wouldn't put up with that kind of crap.

(34,136 posts)Besides, cats are devious and computer savvy - they probably Photoshopped their own pictures!

(1,957 posts)would harness that energy into their local animal shelters where they could groom abused and neglected animals. The animals would love the attention. The shelters would be grateful for their help and skills. The world will be a better place for all those future adopted animals that got groomed and made to look better and certainly feel better.

(28,394 posts)If they want dogs that look like toys, why not make stuffed animals instead? Poor doggies! I bet they feel embarrassed.

(46,179 posts)It's time for her summer cut. She's an aussie, and has way more hair than one dog needs. Now that it's warmed up, to say the least, she's uncomfortably hot.
I take her out to the barn, put her on the sheep stand, and take the horse clippers to her. It takes several sessions, because her undercoat is so thick that it overheats the horse clippers. I leave the hair on her feet and ears, because it slows down the cheat grass and gives me a chance to remove it, if she doesn't, before it gets embedded. The one year I clipped her feet and ears, she ended up having foot surgery and removal of cheat grass from ears by the vet. $$$$.
She doesn't come out all that neat, but enough grows in to even things up soon enough.
First the clip, then the bath. She hates clipping day, but is happy once it's over.
She'd have to be heavily sedated to put up with "extreme grooming" nonsense. But then again, so would I, lol.

(34,136 posts)He loved it - after all, it was more attention!
The only problem I had clipping him was doing his tail. It was hard to hit that moving target since he'd be wagging it ferociously

(46,179 posts)according to my dog, except for when it calls for being restrained and interfered with, like clippers and tubs.
Monday and Tuesday should see it done for this summer.

(3,065 posts)How have these animals been harmed?
Brigid
(17,621 posts)Possibly sedation, and definitely dyes. All unnecessary.

(18,705 posts)I can't even see a dog in that first picture.
How long do these poor dogs have to stand there and be messed with.
The owners have to much time on their hands.
To me it is the same thing as mothers who but their little girls in beauty contests.
