New home is a house built within an old shack.
And extensions put on - but I am still not sorry I bought it.
I have a can of Raid Max about 4 inches away from my computer
Yep - spiders are a problem here ( no shit! )
Only been here a month, will figure out a way to prevent entry in the future (bet ur ass I will).
Although I certainly don't like them, I know they are not poisonous - yep when they bite (when ur sleeping) ya get itchy swollen sores that can last for over a week -
But I ain't terrified of them - but them BIG ones, sure make me jump when I see them.
Grab my Raid Max - blast them, problem solved - for now.
Figure to take a year or two to make this place insect free.
Heck, lived in a 17 foot trailer for 6 years with no facilities.
On someone elses property that hassled me all the time.
I OWN my 28 acres and buildings.
Dealing with the critters is peanuts
It's humans that give me grief.
Gonna buy me a dawg
soon

(14,120 posts)But spiders and I are not friends.
I am one of those that you do not want to be in the same room with if there is a spider as well.
It will get and has got nasty.

(14,120 posts)I am one of those. I will try and throw the whole house at it. I will scream and yell and just loose it.
That is why Dave tries to kill them before I see them.
We have a deal. He handles the spiders, I handle the snakes. It has worked well.

(14,120 posts)Where you see a regular garden spider, I see that. And it is larger than life.
I have a server case of arachnophobia.

(53,339 posts)Well, maybe not from the perspective of their mates, lol. But I used to catch a lot them in my garage as a kid, and offered my black widow eradication services to the neighbors as well.
My personal best was 36 fresh-caught black widows in a jar at one time.
