(6,154 posts)Has it improved at all in recent years or gotten worse? I remember watching a CBC documentary on the state of the city some years back that really shocked me, and I knew some of the truth even then. I know the whole city isn't ruined either, but it's sad to see how bad it is.

It's a Sacrifice Zone.
I don't want to write an essay about it in this thread. I should do an OP on it in GD later on.
It won't be pretty.

(6,154 posts)I'm very interested in the subject, but I don't wander into GD that often due to the nastiness.

(6,154 posts)Glad I'm not working in 7-11 anymore, Canada day was always hell. July and August were always the busiest months but we didn't have the budget to put extra people on on Canada day, there were other days that were busier, so it was just 8 hours of hell with 2 people going mad at the tills. Ahh happy times Lots of booze and BBQ out there I bet.

Je suis anglaise, mais je peux comprendre francais une peux.
No google translator was needed.
I live in Northern Ontario within minutes of Quebec, there are many French people here.
I learned
If I lived Italy, I'd learn to speak write and read Italian.
Within spittin' distance of Quebec - (well, actually a 5 minute boat ride) it bodes well to understand the language, and culture of others methinks.
Merci encore.
