And descending aorta and carotid arteries.
As the technician said, "you have a heart."
What a relief. It was actually even beating.
Time for a 5k run tonight, just to show it who's the boss.

Next. It's the legs, in two weeks. Then, it sounds like the slice and dice will be around Labor Day. Which may fuck up my vacation plans, I was planning to go on a four day bicycle camping ride up in the Thumb. May have to rethink that and do it in October. We'll see, nothing is on paper yet.

(6,581 posts)I have really poor circulation in my legs. The cardiologist thinks it's just the surface veins, not deep veins. I always thought it was just cosmetic, with varicose veins, etc, but it is causing a lot of edema. So, I guess it's time to deal with it. It will be outpatient and "minimally invasive" so not a big deal. They do each leg separately, so two times. The coordinator said I would only have to take one extra day off of work, since I have a total desk job, the hardest thing I do day to day at work is walk 20 feet into the file room.
The other stuff is kind of pending, he detected a murmur but thinks it's benign. And maybe on the road to CHF, but tests will reveal that, and if it is, it's not really there yet, since my BNP came back normal, high normal but normal, so we can head that off at the pass.
No worries, I'm used to being medically fucked up -- was diagnosed with Type II diabetes at 19, even though at the time I weighed like 155, about 10 lbs less than today -- took oral meds for that for years. As well as very high BP. And a lot of other things. But, none of it is a big deal --you deal with it and move on.
So, on my birthday, a few weeks from now, I decided it's time for my first century ride since I was like 26 -- 100 miles.

(6,581 posts)Been watching sodium for years. My PCP switched me from lasix to Bumet in April, he doubled my dose to 4 mgs. Lasix wasn't cutting it -- I gained 23 lbs of fluid in 3 days in April, which really freaked me out. I'm also now on KCL every day to keep that up.

Best of luck, best wishes. I fervently hope you will get good results!
You're going to ride a bike (?) for 100 miles at once?

(6,581 posts)Yup. Did my first 100K two weeks ago, now I want the 100 miles. I did 120 in one day when I was younger. Rode from central Oakland County up to Lansing and back. It was a blast, and I was SO tired when I got home.
