Goodbye my sweet girl ... Stevie







These are not my doves but you can see how gentle they are.




Stevie was part of a pair of breeding Diamond Doves. Her coloration was tan and white like the one here.
I don't know exactly how old she was but she has been part of my family since summer 2012. She was an excellent mother.

We moved her mate Lindsey into the community cage just a little while ago.

I can see why doves a symbol of peace. I love hearing their soft coos in our neighborhood.

I had not seen mourning doves around here until the morning after my husband buried our old dog in our back yard in 2002. I looked out the back door and saw a flock of them pecking the ground fifteen feet from Billie girl's grave. I thought that they came to help me mourn.
