(6,581 posts)Just a fix to an app I use -- MapMyRide for cycling. You have to manually pause it if you stop. I think the GPS should auto-pause it if it doesn't detect movement in, say, 30 seconds. And then start it up again with movement/change of position.
Because, frankly, I pause but forget to resume the app, and as a result lose credit for miles I have put in.
Pisses me off.
Otherwise, an app to print valid, legal US currency at no charge to the user would be nice. Free money, without the worry of going to jail.

-Awesome - Easy to use and everything you'll need. Auto-stops when you're held up by a light. Sharing controls and a great flyover of the route when you're done. Also useful to find local routes from other riders. - Atlstjohn
Basic and advanced ride tracking capabilities for novices thru competitive cyclists.
Edit: I support your second app.

(2,017 posts)It was a great bit from "Leverage". Two guys were trying to get into an office. The one guy couldn't get past the electronic security. The other guy said "I have an app for that" and he used his smartphone to break the window.

(20,176 posts)but I can't wait for Google Car to be publicly-available. Never being allowed to have a driver's license is a &$#%@!
Of course, the SOBs will probably still require everybody behind the wheel of one to have a license, thus negating the functionality to the audiences for whom such technology would be a godsend: the blind, the disabled, epileptics and those otherwise unable to obtain a motor vehicle license in any disqualifying sense.

(11,360 posts)... this has the potential to change our whole society. Imagine if we no longer had to worry about drunk drivers, or if the car could take your children to school when you were already at work, or your parents never got "too old" to drive, or ...

I don't believe I've worn anything other than Velcro shoes for about 20 years now.

I was no better at keeping my shoes tied at 35 than I was at 4.
