Mrs. Venation by ambulance to ER

I can't even go back yet; I got here just after the ambulance and she's not in an exam room yet.

She was putting together a cat tree (what else?) and started feeling sick to her stomach. She sat down and chills and the shakes came on. She waited for me to get home and I gave her some Rx nausea drugs. Didn't help. She laid down for a while, then came out with a splitting headache. i called 911 and here we are.

No idea what it could be. Please keep her in your thoughts, send vibes, and if you pray, you know what to do. Thank you.

She's had 2 ekg and a chest x-ray. Morphine and Zofran. Staff is excellent. Mrs. V. is scared. So am I.

The ER can be painfully slow, especially when you are terrified about the outcome, which makes things so much worse. But hang in there and keep us up to date. The fact that they haven't done anything yet but have taken those 3 tests is probably a good sign!

Good vibes being sent!!!

It could just be exhaustion, or heat, or something along those lines. Even if it's something worse don't jump to conclusions yet. I know that's very hard to do though.

25. UPDATE
Wed Aug 14, 2013, 01:48 AM
Aug 2013

We are home. Tests turned up nothing; everything is normal. Pfft. If it were normal, why did she get sick?

She is feeling better. Still woozy, still a little nauseated, but better. We were sent home with a scrip for Zofran, dietary instructions, and that's it. I don't like this about ERs: unless it's something like a broken bone, they send you home without answers.

I'm taking tomorrow off so that she won't be alone. Life, please stop scaring us, please?

I've had trips to our ER here with severe symptoms of one thing or another, but they were all related to stress in my life

Stress can give you pretty much any symptom in the World.

Learned that decades ago - also learned,

many doctors ain't too smart.

Take care

be well

If she feels better this morning, she will resist going to see our internist.

I agree with you, T.A. What can one do, though?

Thank you so much.

Edit: yep, finished the tree, before she got so sick that I called 911.

While she was resting and before it got bad enough to call 911, I completed assembling the cat tree and waited for it to make me sick. Nothin'.

Thanks, l.l.d.

she is sensitive to something in the materials and you are not. Was there carpet involved? That stuff can be bad for some folks since it often contains a lot of chemicals. You might want to put it somewhere to air out a bit just to be sure.

I hope things are back to normal today, but do keep a close eye on her.

I hope the Mrs is doing better.
