The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsA poll made for Lounge: "Arrested Development" or "Sex in the City"?!1
In the land of cable re-runs, I have seen things I never saw while they were in their living run. Therefore, in my long ago abandoned treadmilling (13 yrs ago?), I saw all of the re-runs of Scrubs, The Golden Girls, and The Drew CAREY Show. In the last couple of years it's been Everybody Loves Raymond and The King of Queens.
Frankly, I've seen more of SitC than Arrested. The latter is amusing, with creepy overtones, and I'm skipping it more, to the point of abandoning it. SitC was fun for a large chunk of just about all the episodes. It seemed like it was just good fun with personal adventures and experimenting. But then the episode where Carrie was in Big's own residence, you know, the one that HIS WIFE lived in WITH HIM, and the wife discovered her and chased her and fell down the stairs, uh, it seemed more like these people were more like from the Marquis de Sade than innocent adventurers.
And if concepts have a specific locale in the name, like "Reno 911" or "the City," why do they follow up with movies in MIAMI or DUBAI, respectively?!1

(6,581 posts)Both have their qualities, but of the two, no contest in my mind, Arrested Development is brilliant, although Fox season 3 kinda was an inch short of shark jumping with the British chick. Season 4 on Netflix redeemed it in spades, IMHO.
SITC is more of a light amusement.

(4,299 posts)She isn't British and I loved that plotline. No SITC interest here.
