...the signs on the door aren't quite as blatant, but it is a retro toy / memorabilia store, and the message is basically "I run the store by myself and am usually here between "X - X," but I may not be, so thanks in advance for your understanding and patience."

I've gone there several times during "normal business hours" to check the store out. She's never been there when I've been there.

Very unpredictable hours.
The whole attitude of this area was demonstrated during a city hall election when one candidate announced she was too busy at her OTHER job to campaign for the part-time City job she wanted but would appreciate our understanding and our vote.
She got neither.
However, she did get 25 votes, which was 10 more than the trailing candidate, who was arrested the day before the election for stealing 400 pounds of shelled pecans from the back porch of .....the sheriff's mother.
