It pops up every once in a while -- this "spamming" accusation. Never specific. Is it the 6 rapid-fire posts? Is it
the dots? Is it an ignorance of the ability to "Ignore" members? (Uh-huh.) Is it just plain meanness and frustration
with their OWN reality seeking to provide a fleeting and ultimately ineffective measure of self-"satisfaction".
.
It's pretty much a mystery to me. It means an extra spin of the scroll wheel or an extra click or two of the mouse.
.
I WISH a problem that horrific were at the top of my "hit list".
.
But perceptions differ -- therefore the maxim: Ignore can be your friend. I won't tell you how many people have
me on their "Ignore" list -- you'd think I was bragging -- but I have a measure of respect for THOSE folks...
PLUS I greatly prefer being ignored to being attacked.
.
DU2 had a definition of "spamming" and none of the criteria fit what I do, so I'm not sure where it comes from
other than a group of buddies seemed to pick on it en masse (probably supporting the one person who found
it "unbearable", worked themselves into a frenzy when it they couldn't spoil someone else's fun... and for the
most part gave up as a fruitless endeavor and put me on Ignore.
.
I sometimes wonder if the occasional hits I get about it are caused by residual frustration from someone who
had been a part of those "swarms" (using a different username... but it's all too similar in style and wording).
.
What it does is bring people out of the shadows to get my back -- and that feels wonderful -- so I think what the
complainers INTEND to do usually just flat out 180 degree backfires.
