Its the day after Super Bowl Sunday, so the media is busy wringing every last drop of hype out of its annual High Holy Day, dissecting ads, gasping at MIAs middle finger and Madonnas near-faceplant, and this: Gisele Bundchen, wife of losing Patriots QB Tom Brady, was caught on tape saying, through a barrage of Giants fans heckling, that My husband cannot f**king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time!
(There was also a game; the Giants won.)
The exchange is all over cable news today, with much of the focus on Bundchens use of profanity and apparent blaming of her husbands receiving corps, as well as her pleas, last week, for people to pray for Brady. In both cases, Bundchens remarks, for what its worth, dont appear to have been intended for public consumption. The prayer request was made via email to friends, and she didnt seem to be aware there was a camera on her last night.
Giants fans were heckling Bundchen about Bradys loss, and she turned to a companion and said, You [have] to catch the ball when youre supposed to catch the ball
My husband cannot f**king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I cant believe they dropped the ball so many times.
Those comments might make things a little awkward at the next team barbecue, but as a Jets fan, I was more disturbed at the behavior of those Giants supporters. Heckling a players wife is not cool, and they were shouting Eli owns your husband!

(20,277 posts)I don't think what she said was cool at all. She should have just ignored them.

(23,350 posts)er, wait ...
Anyway, a chant of "Eli owns your husband" is pretty mild. Not nice, but it could have been worse.
At the next team barbeque, if she hands some brats and beer to the receivers, all will be forgiven. Those guys were probably using some choice words aimed at themselves at times.

(49,212 posts)I can certainly understand wanting to defend a loved one, but these days if you're famous you have to assume anything you say outside your front door is being recorded.

(20,564 posts)whether or not the "fans" or the reporter are being tacky to "heckle" is one question but it's WAY BEYOND TACKY for the wife to make trouble w. the husband's co workers
and to say that it's OK for the wife to backbite and gossip to a "companion" about what shitheads your husband's co workers are...no...it isn't...that is stuff that should be kept for deep dark in the middle of the night only to be discussed between you and your husband
the wife should NEVER be out there dissing the hubby's co workers
