(95,337 posts)any future hearts I would rather you donate to someone without a heart.
I usually make my donation later in the week so I can hitup everyone who hasn't received one yet. I want to make sure that everyone gets a share of the love!

(21,596 posts)I would like to express my gratitude to Skinner, EarlG and Elad for the Valentine's Hearts for Planned Parenthood! DU is so wonderful. I can't wait to find out what the total DU contribition to PP will be. I am beyond broke at this point, so I am so grateful for the heart contribution I was given. Thanks to DU members who are so generous and kind!

(21,596 posts)I think that these hearts really bring DUers together.
We can be so argumentative at times. (No...not ME...never..really?... )

(11,700 posts)Hey, let's go annoy everyone in GD. They'll think we've turned into a cult.

(21,596 posts)My SO is from NJ and he is a punk rocker!

(11,700 posts)Punk rock household here too. We're all over the map musically. My girlfriend likes the Ramones and bakes biscuits from scratch. (As she's doing now.)

(21,596 posts)I was a Ramones and Sex Pistols era high school kid. I listen to EVERYTHING though. I love music even though I can't play or sing. Someone has to listen!
My son loves live (acoustic) music, songs on CDs and the radio. His current faves are the latest Black Keys album, a Winnie the Pooh audio storybook and the Beatles One CD!
His dad is at band practice right now! He's had bands since the early 1980s and is still rocking now! My little guy and I stay home while dad plays punk rock bass and rocks out. We go and hear him when the band plays at a outdoor venue. Punk rock inside a club at 11 at night is not on a 3 year old's schedule!
We just finished eating a batch of pumpkin drop cookies that we made while listening to our local indie/local access FM radio station! We live in a really cool town so we get to listen to lots of live music that's OK for little kids! Our local farmers market has live music every Saturday!
I love 1970s NYC punk rock. The lead guitarist for my SOs band used to play with Richard Hell and the Voidoids (from NYC).
I hope the biscuits were tasty!

(3,818 posts)I always look forward to the Valentine's Fundraiser. Each year I give a little more so I can give out more hearts. It's too fun. What a great idea for Planned Parenthood to be the recipient too.

(28,941 posts)I have to say Spread the Love is a great idea. We have fun and a worthwhile charity gets some DU love. I told Skinner I think we should do this every February. If not PP, then something else that the wingnuts are gunning for.
