I had/have no idea who M.I.A. is... but it took me the longest time to figure out

1. She is a British rapper of Hindu/Sri Lankian origins

I remember seeing her sing on an awards show. SHe was like 9 months pregnant (she had her kid 2 days later) and was jumping up and down everywhere. Kinda felt bad for the kid - it was like being in one of those jumpie rides except they start shaking it real fast and you can't get out.

She is very talented but still not as well known in the US as Madonna or Nicki Minaj (the other cheerleader from the song done yesterday). But now - people know her and she'll probably sell a few more albums. There's nothing better you can do to boost album sales than to piss off the PTC fundie nutjobs.

BTW why she did what she did? Her next single release is called 'Bad Girls' - guess she was living up to the song title.
