Top on my list has to be "Sabotage" by Beastie Boys. Directed by Spike Jonze who has a history of amazing music videos including "Praise You" and "Weapon of Choice" by Fatboy Slim (WoC is the video with Christopher Walken dancing in the hotel Lobby).

but I can't seem to separate in my mind the quality of a particularly well done video from the music in it. This has the effect of me picking favorite music like this:
over favorite videos like what's been produced since the advent of MTV with an eye toward being a video. Plus, I haven't watched MTV since the 80s so I've probably missed out on stuff so I'll just leave some Abbath and friends right here:
