I guess I'll have to vote for Michael Jackson. I'm not usually a fan of the super stars of music, I tend to like one song or two here and there but I tend not to care for their personalities. But Michael really was that good. Then there's his whole personal life, eww.

you hate that you actually love the singer; for example, I love Neil Diamond even though he doesn't fit with my description of myself as a sold rock 'n roll type of gal

sheesh!

Ok, OK... I thought of one. Blake Shelton. Not knowing who he was, I thought I would hate him. I was so wrong!

would be Kenny G. A while ago, I posted one of his songs ("We've Saved the Best for Last&quot on a musical thread in the DateHookup forums once, and some idiot called me "gay" just for posting it. I like a lot of Kenny G's work (and jazz in general), but most people around my age don't seem to share that appreciation for the genre. All I mostly hear people playing in their cars is watered-down mainstream hip-pop and r&b songs about going to clubs and boasting about how much they get laid.

...it would have to be Richard Wagner. One of the biggest assholes in music history -- and that's even without taking his rabid anti-Semitism into account -- he nonetheless created works that are among the most overwhelming in western civilization.

Before that he did some great stuff, especially at the beginning of his career with the Yardbirds, Cream, and then Derek and the Dominos.
