What is this "owner" of which you speak?

I've seen several posts recently in which cats are said to be in contact with something called an "owner." Is this some new hip dialogue? I've never known a cat to be owned by anyone.

After all, who would want to publicly admit that the ball of fur sleeping in your lap actually calls all the shots?

They of course, are the four legged people. Each refers to him/herself as THE CAT. The others are cats.
