(60,334 posts)I can't name any other song by that group. But I probably knew the lyrics to this when it came out.

(5,364 posts)Hopelessly mainstream. The more media "buzz" a band ( or a movie ) gets, the more they suck. Truly good music was always some sort of underground attraction while Mr/Mrs/Ms Lame-O Vanilla ooohhed and ahhhed at the bubblegum.

Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band
The Brothers Johnson
Wild Cherry
If I had to pick from just those 5 then I would have gone with Boston. Wild Cherry was another memorable 1-hit wonder band ("Play that Funky Music White Boy" and I never heard of Dr. Buzzrd's original Savannah Band or THe Brothers Johnson.

(21,020 posts)although I like Strawberry Letter #23 best of all their songs
PS...they also did "I'll Be Good To You", but I like this version better, by Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and Chaka Khan:

(2,971 posts)They were both excellent musicians and their stuff is worth checking out.
It's kind of funny Boston with their long career would lose to SVB. Then again, Boston recorded so infrequently SVB may have released more albums LOL

(3,998 posts)were great. I think I still have their first album somewhere. I have the first Boston lp too, of course
