I WONDER which Soundgarden song President Obama will perform with Chris Cornell tonight.

Black Hole Sun? Fell On Black Days? Like Suicide? THOSE would be MY top three choices.

Obama In San Francisco: President's Major Fundraisers Feature Quince Dinner, Chris Cornell Show

The smear campaigns. The satirical candidates. The protests. It's officially 2012, and election season is in full swing.

On Thursday evening, Barack Obama himself will pay a visit to San Francisco. And while he's been here before, this time he's serious.

The President's first stop: a small, private fundraiser at the home of author Robert Mailer Anderson and Nicola Miner, including a dinner by Quince's own Chef Michael Tusk.

"We are so excited for the opportunity to showcase our favorite Northern California farmers and purveyors through this dinner for President Obama," said Tusk to The Huffington Post. "The Obamas' support of healthy, sustainable food is reflected in the evening's menu and we're honored to be a part of it."

The Foo Fighters are easily one of the greatest American bands on the planet, period.

It's hard to tell what kind of staying power and relevance Nirvana would have had if Kurt were still with us. I haven;t listened to any of the box sets, so I'm unfamiliar with the unreleased material. I remember my initial reaction to "In Utero," their follow-up to "Nevermind," being "hope the next album is better.

Who knows? The band might have imploded and Dave might have struck out on his own anyway...look at Guns 'n' Roses, Axl Rose and a whole new crew.

I posted this clip recently on DU (Dave Grohl & Norah Jones performing "Maybe I'm Amazed" at the Kennedy Center Honors for Paul McCatney, and the response was huge...everyone LOVED it. We'll never know if Kurt had what it took to shine for decades, but I feel confident that Dave & the Foos are here to stay.

'The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name!"

The perfect song for No-Drama Obama.
